Doing Our Very Best For Everyone
In order to keep our prices extremely low and within what the Department of Work and Pensions will pay for, all funerals are undertaken at our convenience. We won’t keep you waiting, but we ultimately get to decide when the funeral takes place and what time.
You can decide if you would like someone buried or cremated and you can attend the funeral service. We will contact a vicar or a civil celebrant if you wish.
All other arrangements are the choice of Coulbert Family Funerals.
The Department of Work and Pensions will pay for the following:
They will also make a contribution of up to £700 towards funeral director's fees. This includes:
*A bespoke coffin, additional bearers or going to a specialised crematorium may be needed, should the deceased be over a certain weight. This will incur an additional charge that may not be covered by a payment made by the Department of Work and Pensions.
As the funeral director's contribution is just a fraction of the normal costs, the service is restricted.
We will decide on your behalf about the day and time of the funeral as well as what coffin you will have.
It is important to note that you will not be able to see the person who has passed away, we will not dress them and they will be placed into the coffin in their natural state. We may only remove the person from the hospital on the day of the funeral (although we will endeavour to collect them at least 24 hours prior to the funeral but this isn’t guarenteed).
We can assure you that your loved one will be treated with the same dignity and respect as we would give to our family. We promise never lose sight of the fact that they are still someone’s Mother, Brother, Niece or Child.
We will do our very best to help everyone who calls and as quickly as we can.
